The Sacramental Window

The Sacramental Window, the burial place of many Royal Kings and Queens in Scotland. An inscription on the second window states, ‘he is not here for he is risen.’ Mary Magdalene who had first seen Jesus risen from the dead, can be seen praying alongside the other ‘Mary’s’ at his tomb. In the ‘Gospel of Mary Magdalene’, as the apostles despair at the death of Jesus, ‘Mary arose, embraced them all, and said: ‘Do not remain in sorrow and doubt, for his Grace will guide you and comfort you.’ Through the sharing of her faith and the memories of Jesus and his teachings, Mary Magdalene, the archetypal Divine Feminine, conveys a powerful message, that ‘a divided heart weakens and destroys the foundations of humanity.’
